CAN TRUTH BE A LIE?

A lie:   a false statement made with intent to deceive.
Can truth be told with intent to deceive?

Why do the courts compel a witness to swear (or affirm) "to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth"?  Because they know a half truth or partial truth can be deceptive.

"The sum of Thy word is truth."   Psalms 119:160

Most people get information of current events from T.V., radio, or newspapers. Our children get information  of how the world works, or is supposed to work, at school.  How accurate is this information?  Is there bias involved or even outright deceit?

In the January 3rd Iowa primary the news media reporting the event, an extremely close contest between the two front runners, called Romney the winner when 99% of the vote was counted.  Shortly before, when Santorum was ahead, they said it was too close to call.  One percent of the 99% (approximately 120,000) already counted is 1200 votes.  Only eight votes separated the top two candidates.

I continued watching while the network gave commentary and interviews, but the vote totals were never updated. That seemed strange so I looked at the six individual counties whose vote count wasn't complete. Their voting totals ranged from 79% to 95% complete.  Their vote totals weren't changing either.  Strange.

Through using on-site information I was able to calculate that Santorum was the winner in Iowa's primary.  My calculations were confirmed over two weeks later when the official vote count was released.  Or were they?  The January 18th vote totals were less than the January 3rd totals.  Very strange.

Ideology drives the bias of the Main Stream Media.  Between 1990 and 2010, The Communication Workers of America donated $26,305,500 to the Democrats and $125,300 to the Republicans: a 200:1 ratio.  How biased is that.

Power drives the heads of the two main political parties.  "We" must win at all costs, no matter how many of our principles we have to leave in the mud.  Go with the candidate who, by hook or by crook, can win the most delegates for our team. We cannot lose our power base.

Neither party seems to be concerned whether or not their candidate will follow the Constitution, and the Main Stream Media's ideology is contrary to the Constitution.  Candidates who base their platform on the Constitution they're sworn  to uphold, if elected, are ignored or disparaged in any way possible.  We're told they have no chance of winning.  So...what do we do?

                                         Go to the polls,
                                         And hold our nose.
                                         Do what we're told,
                                         Watch victory(?) unfold.

                                          What do we get?
                                          More bureaucrats....yet?
                                          We think we've won,
                                          Our due diligence done.

Of two paths we can choose,
                                          But it's only a ruse.
It's not the path, fast or slow,
                                          But the direction we go.

                                          How can our Nation defend,
                                          From the cancer within?
                                          If God's Word we misuse,
Down the tube, light the fuse!

                                          If we continue this way,
Down that path from the Son.
All that's left me to say,
"Look out Rome, here we come!"

Let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for your rulers just men who will rule in the fear of God  [Exodus 18:21]. . . .If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted. . . .If government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.
                                            Noah Webster (1758-1843)

Don't be deceived into voting for ungodly, unprincipled men who say one thing, then do another.

TRUTH

In trying to decide where to go next, I feel like a Siberian in an American grocery store.  So many nourishing products!  How do you pick the best (most relevant) product to bring home to your family?

My objectives in this forum are to defend God's word, our freedom, and the Constitution.  What should be our foundation for any of our endeavors?   Truth.  Psalms 119:142  states, "Thy law is truth."; Ps. 119:151 "Thy commandments are truth."; 119:16 "The sum of thy word is truth."  Jesus told the people (John 8:32) "....you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."  If the truth makes us free, logic would imply that lies and deceit will make us slaves.

In speaking of the Sodomites in Romans 1:24 , the apostle Paul writes, "....they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.....".  In II Thess. 2:9-12  Paul warns the Thessalonians that if they don't love the truth, "God will send upon them a deluding spirit so that they might believe what is false."

Mention of  "the creature" in Rom. 1:24 brought to mind the book, "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by
G. Edward Griffin, about the Federal Reserve. It and its name are good examples of how others deceive and enslave us.

The first three things we should know about the Federal Reserve System are: it is not federal, it has no reserves, and the Federal Reserve Banks are not banks.  What then is its purpose?  I'm glad you asked :).

This is my understanding.  The Federal Government taxes us.  They use a very small percentage of our taxes on matters that are constitutional and the large remainder on unconstitutional programs, departments, and bureaus - or as our Founding Fathers stated in the Declaration of  Independence, "...erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent out hither swarms of Officers to harass our People, and eat out their substance."
Why do our elected representatives allow this to happen?   Either they don't know the Constitution or don't respect their oath to uphold it.  Plus, they know that most of the voters don't know it either.  Therefore, they create programs, projects, or handouts so the people will keep electing them, and they create legislation to reward those who support and finance their re-election.  And what do the people do?  Re-elect them. : (

So?  You ask. (I'm enjoying our conversation)  How does the Federal Reserve fit into the scheme?

After the government has spent all of our taxes (willingly donated, of course), they "borrow" the money we paid in for our social security.  (security??)   All that's left in the account are I.O.U.'s.  They don't invest well and pay no interest.  Oh, yes, the purpose of the Federal Reserve, the most insidious taxing agent in the world.

Taxing agent?  But I thought their purpose was to protect us by regulating the banks and the money supply?  Stated purpose, yes.  Real purpose?  Create money, out of nothing, by the printing press or electronically, for the government to borrow so they can raise the debt ceiling and keep on spending.  ( National debt is currently over 14 trillion)   The FED loans it to the government and the banks at a low interest rate.
We, the working people, pay the interest on this counterfeit money with currency of real value earned by blood, sweat, and tears (real work).

Wait a minute!  You said the FED created something out of nothing.  I thought only God could do that.  Okay,  you're right.  They didn't create anything of value, only the illusion of value.  Let me explain it this way:

A vendor makes a pot of soup, rich in food value.  One bowl provides enough energy for the whole day.  The pot starts getting low, so the vendor adds water, with no food value, to keep it full.  Soon a person requires two bowls to have enough energy for the day.  As water is continually added it requires 3, 4, then 5 bowls to get the same energy.  But it happens over time and you get used to having to eat more or pay more for the same amount of food value.  They've created more soup, but its food value keeps diminishing.  How does this translate to the value of the dollar?

In 1972 a nice house sold for $17,000.  Forty years later (2012) the same value house sells for $170,000.
In 1972 a gallon of gas. cost around 35 cents per gallon. now it's around $3.50 a gallon. A 1972 car sold for $3000.  Today the same value car is $30,000.  It takes $10 now to buy what $1.00 would buy in 1972.  What happened?

Inflation: an increase in the money supply with no value backing it.  Our money has been watered down. That dollar you put in savings 40 years ago will now buy 10 cents worth of product.

Forty years ago the U.S.A. was the world's largest creditor nation.  We are now the world's largest debtor nation. [Edit: as of January 20th, the US is the world's second-largest debtor nation, surpassed by Japan after their recent natural disasters] 1  We, as a nation, are in debt that we have no ability to pay, to China and other nations.

Proverbs 22:17 says,  "...the borrower becomes the lender's slave."

The Federal Reserve isn't the only "creature" making us it's slave.  There are many other "creatures" prowling about.  I Peter 5:8    Don't be deceived.  Know the TRUTH.

                                                                    For Christ,
                                                                                         DEFENDER

SOMETHING'S MISSING

I know that many of you, like me, are extremely concerned about the the direction America is headed.  Also,  like me, you have probably listened to many talk shows whose hosts have given us many answers to the how this nation can be turned to the right direction. I've talked to friends who agree with much of what they say.   But, it seems we're still headed in the wrong  direction...at an increasing speed.

Something must be missing.  An airplane needs fuel to run the engine.  A propeller to provide thrust, wings to provide lift, a vertical stabilizer and elevators to provide direction and a pilot to make sure they are all utilized at the proper time and sequence.  If any one of these is missing, it will never get off the ground.

As the engineers and architects of the government and economics of our country were debating what kind of government our American civilization should have, the debate started to become very uncivil.  Being alarmed at this, one of the oldest and wisest of the men at the convention to revise the Articles of Confederation addressed the convention, and its president. George Washington, with one of its longest speeches.  In a short excerpt from that speech in 1787 an 81 year old Benjamin Franklin said:
"......I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of the truth--- that God governs in the affairs of men.  And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?  We have been assured, sir, in the Sacred Writings, that  'except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.'  "
They did seek His aid and the fledgling United States of America defeated the most powerful military in the world and in a few years became the most prosperous and blessed people on Earth.  With His aid they got the ship of state off the ground and soaring to undreamed heights.

Fast forward to 2012.  We are still flying high, but I fear we are only gliding, propelled by our virtues of the past.  As we pull back on the control trying to keep our nation's nose up to maintain altitude we are losing speed.  Why?  We have substituted worldly values for Godly virtue and are fueling the economy with fiat money - counterfeit dollars backed by nothing - printed by the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank.   The  stall warning light has come on and the alarm is buzzing.  Both are being ignored.

If we continue to ignore the warnings, our ship of state will suddenly  stall, go into a spiral dive, and crash into the same oblivion as so many nations before us.  It doesn't have to end this way.  We still have a good engine - our Constitution and the Bible - but its power has been hidden by the revisionists.

Step One
Pray that we and our nation will see through the fog of deceit.

This Is a Test Post

insert completely meaningless text here because you're not trying to type anything meaningful at all, just figure out what things might look like when there is actually something meaningful on here like letters to the editor or information on...well, who knows what; I'm just Defender's daughter, setting up his blog for him, and pretty soon he'll take over running it and you won't be hearing from me anymore.  If that makes you sad, you can go over to notmerelyhuman.blogspot.com where you will hear from me.  In fact, if all goes as planned, you'll hear from me quite a bit more than you'd really like to.  So if you don't want to hear from me, you should probably stay over here, because this is the last time that I will be posting (unless I do a guest post).
